Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities project, Te Mātāwai, stands as a landmark in Aotearoa, marking the largest public housing development in the nation’s history. This ambitious project features three elegant tower blocks that rise majestically from a central podium, designed to foster connectivity and community engagement. At its core, Te Mātāwai is envisioned as a vibrant urban village—a nurturing environment where residents can live, work, and thrive in the bustling heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland.

This collaboration with Kāinga Ora and local iwi Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei has resulted in a harmonious blend of modern urban living and traditional cultural significance.
